            At the time of the 2010 census, Billings’ population was 104,170. As of 2012, the population had grown to 106,954. The city and region are experiencing rapid population and economic growth.  One driving factor in the growth is the Bakken oil boom. 


            Billings’ elevation is 3,123 feet. It is in the banana belt of Montana. Due to elevation and geographical position, Billings is much warmer than many parts of the state. The average rainfall is 13.66.” The average snowfall is 56.9”. From June-September, the average temperature is 76 and from November-January, the average temperature is 32. The wind speed averages between 9 and 13 miles per hour.
